I’m a firm believer your LinkedIn profile needs to resonate with your resume. Having said that, your LinkedIn profile content is not word for word what is written on your resume.
Your LinkedIn profile allows you to expand upon items you mentioned in your resume. Here you can provide examples and testimonials of your previous work experience.
In writing your promotional copy you need to decide whether to write in the first person or the 3rd person. And then be consistent throughout your profile.
Creating your profile to appeal to other connections is a different matter. Instead of writing how wonderful you are in the case of appealing to a recruiter, when appealing to a connection or for a future connection, you’re letting them know what you have to offer and how you could possibly serve them.
