Being the software architect at a small company I feel insecure about applying for the architect position at larger companies. Especially when I see the team of many 40+ year olds I’m supposed to be leading. Applying for anything less than architect feels like a bad CV strategy.

Start off by taking your age out of the scenario. We live in a multi-generational and diversified work force.

Okay so, i’m currently a staff manager and they want me to become the store manager. No pay increase, only benefits are that my position will change and now i am entitled to bonuses, which i was not entitled to before. i am entitled to a raise once a year, which wont happen soon.
